Silambarasan TR is riding high on the blockbuster success of his Maanaadu released towards the end of last year and will next be seen in the much-awaited action drama Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, making it his third collaboration with director Gautham Menon and Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman after their Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. Simbu also has a couple of big upcoming ventures in the pipeline that include the exciting Corona Kumar, which is yet to kick off production, while the highly-anticipated Pathu Thala has one final schedule to be completed. In that light, producer K. E. Gnanavelraja, who is bankrolling Pathu Thala under his Studio Green banner, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta and shared first-hand details about the release plans for the STR-starrer being directed by Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Obeli N. Krishna and featuring music by A. R. Rahman.
Producer K. E. Gnanavelraja said, "Pathu Thala is being planned for a release in December. As of now, the final schedule is pending and will feature portions to be shot with Simbu sir. The film is planned to release either in the second or third week of December as a Christmas treat. Only portions of STR need to be shot now and the film has shaped up very well." This latest update from Gnanavelraja about Pathu Thala will no doubt come as a massive delight for Silambarasan fans everywhere, who have been waiting to witness him in action on the big screen after it was revealed that the flamboyant actor will be playing the role of a don in the film, which also stars Gautham Karthik as the second lead, followed by Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead, with the supporting cast featuring Kalaiyarasan, Asuran fame Teejay Arunasalam, Gautham Vasudev Menon,
