Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions banner, the mass masala political entertainer featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja has collected 22 crores at the Tamil Nadu box office in the first three days of its release. With Maanaadu currently the talk of the town and fans heading in for repeat viewings, another STR film has now gotten an announcement. Etcetera Entertainment's Maha starring leading actress Hansika Motwani in the lead role and Simbu in an extended cameo as a pilot named Jameel will have its first single released on December 4 at 5 p.m.

Maha directed by newcomer U. R. Jameel is a landmark film for Hansika as it is her 50th venture in her career, with expectations surrounding the project shooting up post the announcement that she would be seen alongside Simbu once again after the 2015 smash hit film Vaalu.
