Silambarasan TR's Maanaadu has taken a phenomenal start at the box office as the film has opened to glorious reviews from fans and critics alike. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the mass masala political entertainer produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions had collected Rs. 8 Crores + at the Tamil Nadu box office, which is a huge number taking into account the film was released on a non-festive weekday. Now, Suresh Kamatchi has released the Maanaadu TN box office report for day two informing fans that the film has collected 6 crores, taking the two-day total to Rs 14 crores.

The opening for Simbu's Maanaadu is stellar and has reportedly gone past his Eeswaran's lifetime Tamil Nadu gross in these two days. The strong word of mouth for the film is expected to draw in more audiences to theatres, especially during the weekend, which will only better the gross of these past two days. Despite the rains in several parts of the state, fans have been thronging cinema halls to witness STR and filmmaker turned actor S. J. Suryah, who plays his counterpart, lock horns with each other in Maanaadu revolves around a political assassination and how the two are caught in the midst of a time loop. Below is Suresh Kamatchi's tweet:

Maanaadu has turned out to be a huge comeback for Silambarasan, who has hit the bullseye on his outing this time after his past few films didn't fare as well as he would have hoped. The film also includes an ensemble star cast featuring the likes of Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead, followed by S. A. Chandrasekhar, Y. Gee. Mahendran, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja among others in pivotal roles, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
