Soori is one of the well-known comedians who has acted in supporting roles in over 60 films. He became well-known after the parotta comedy and for his combo with Sivakarthikeyan. The actor has played the lead for the first time in the film Viduthalai Part: 1. The movie is directed by the acclaimed director Vetri Maaran and was produced by RS Infotainment. The film has music composed by Maestro Ilayaraja. The movie was released on March 31 and has been running successfully in theatres.

Galatta media organised an exciting fans meet for the actor Soori with some sweet surprises, As a surprise to the actor and his fans, the school teacher of Soori named Tamilarasan made an appearance and shared about the school days of the actor at the event. When the anchor asked why he would get bashed by his teacher when he was a kid. The educator said, “he won’t study, he can’t study at all”. Soori jokingly said “I couldn’t study sir, It was not like I didn’t want to.” The actor went on to share an anecdote from his school days. Soori said “Sir do you remember it, sir, I remembered this incident after seeing him. He asked 'everyone what was 4+3. Everyone said it was 7. But, sir said I am saying it's 8 and picked up a stick. Lift your hands if it’s 7. Then everyone lifted their hands.' Them Me and my friend started discussing. I lifted my hands. Then, my friend said no it's 8 and I said the teacher is itself saying it's 8 so let's drop our hands. He said listen to me it's 8, so drop your hand and convinced me. Then He made everyone who answered correctly more to one of the class. I confidently made another friend who studies well called Shivakumar, to drop his hands. Then the teacher made us count with our fingers asking how it could be 8 that time also I said it was only 8 sir so we both got beating. I remember it till today, sir." The sir then replied “I forgot about it. My name is Tamilarasan and today, if you known as a teacher that is because of this student." He then said a Tamil proverb that translates to the twine used to make garlands will smell like fragrance because of the flower and said Ramasamy aka Soori is the flower and I am the twine. “I don't have any words today, still I couldn't stop talking But I believe he will not have grown this big if he was with me," said the teacher about Soori dropping out from school.
