Hollywood actress Freida Pinto and her husband-photographer Cory Tran have now officially entered parenthood. The couple announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy, on Monday, with the Slumdog Millionaire actress taking to Instagram to share photos of their son, while also revealing his name to be Rumi-Ray. The announcement of the birth of their baby comes on the special occasion of Cory's birthday, with The 37-year-old actress captioned the pictures, "Happy Birthday Dada Cory! I celebrate you my husband, friend and partner in life. To see you become not just a Dad but Super-Dad makes me so emotional and fills me with joy. It also gives this sleep deprived Mama a break and you have no idea how much I appreciate that! I am so grateful and in love with how we do life together. Love you madly. Cory also posted pictures of the newborn on Instagram and wrote, "Best birthday gift you could ever ask for. Thank you for our sweet boy. I’m in awe of you more and more every day. Watching you give birth to Rumi-Ray was truly a miracle, you are such a warrior." Freida and Cory tied the knot in a secret wedding during the pandemic, with the actress revealing the big news on The Kelly Clarkson Show. She stated, "I should clear the air. I wasn't planning a big fat Indian wedding. It was just going to be something pretty and simple... But then Covid happened and it's still happening and we just realised we were going to be planning this for the rest of our lives and probably never doing it." Frieda further added, "Honestly, I have to say if any of you have planned a wedding, you probably know this, I do not want stomach ulcers from planning my own wedding. This was perfect! We got married and then we got to go home and take an afternoon nap."

Freida Pinto shot to worldwide fame after starring as the female lead in the Academy Award-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire, opposite Dev Patel under Danny Boyle's direction and featuring music by A. R. Rahman. She later appeared in films like Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Immortals, Hillbilly Elegy, Trishna, Love Sonia, the Netflix venture Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle and Love, Wedding, Repeat. Frieda is also a part of the documentary Girl Rising, which has her as one of the narrators alongside other iconic names like Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Salma Hayek, Sushmita Sen and Priyanka Chopra.
