SJ Suryah will be seen making his digital debut in the web series, Vadhandhi - The Fable of Velonie, which is set to premiere on Prime Video India on December 2. Speaking to reporters at the trailer launch of the upcoming series in Chennai on Tuesday, November 22, the blockbuster filmmaker-turned-actor was asked about making his comeback to directing films, including teaming up once again with Ajith Kumar and 'Thalapathy' Vijay. SJ Suryah, whose last big directorial was Isai in 2015, had stated that he currently doesn't have enough time to direct a film with himself in the lead role but expressed his hope in joining hands with both the Tamil cinema superstars. 

Fans will know that SJ Suryah made his directorial debut with the psychological romantic thriller film, Vaali, starring Ajith in dual roles alongside Simran, which went on to become a massive blockbuster in 1999. The director-actor next joined hands with 'Thalapathy' Vijay in the romantic comedy film, Kushi, which also starred Jyotika, and became a raging money-spinner at the box office in 2000. Many fans have been expressing their desire to witness SJ Suryah direct Ajith and Vijay once again and it now remains to be seen how things turn out in the future. It is to be noted that SJ Suryah made a special appearance in Vijay's 2012  coming-of-age comedy-drama film, Nanban, while playing the role of the antagonist in the superstar’s Mersal in 2017, with speculations rife that he will be seen next in Varisu coming out as a grand Pongal release in January 2023. 

As for his upcoming directorial titled Killer, SJ Suryah confirmed at the Vadhandhi trailer launch that a luxury car that he had imported from Germany sometime back is for the film, which he revealed will begin rolling in April 2023. He also informed media persons that there will be an important announcement made on December 12, while also teasing another big project. The filmmaker-actor then gave an update on his film Bommai opposite Priya Bhavani Shankar directed by Radha Mohan and informed that it's being planned to release in theatres in April. SJ Suryah also has in his lineup Mark Antony with Vishal being directed by Adhik Ravichandran of Trisha Illana Nayanthara fame and the tentatively titled Ram Charan-starrer RC 15 under Shankar's direction in Telugu.
