Today, February 3, marks Sivakarthikeyan's tenth year anniversary in the film industry as his debut film, Marina released in theatres on this date, ten years back. Over the last ten years, SK has grown to be a force to reckon with. His journey has been an inspiring one for a lot of youngsters out there and he is sure to keep us all inspired with his growth in the upcoming years as well. Marking the completion of ten years in the film industry, Sivakarthikeyan has issued an official statement, expressing his happiness and gratitude, thanking everyone for making him what he is now today.

SK's official statement read, "Today marks my ten years in cinema... Started this journey with nothing but hope. And today the place that you have given for me in your hearts and homes, is an unforeseen truth. At this significant juncture, I thank director Mr Pandiraj sir for giving me my first acting opportunity, my fantastic producers who shaped my projects, my directors who stood along me in this journey, my talented co-actors who let me too shine through their talents, all the technician and staff who have worked in all my films, distributors, theatre owners, friends from press-television-online media and all cinema fans.

Above all, my heartfelt thanks to my motherly Tamil, my Tamil people for owning me as your son, brother, friends, family and to my brothers and sisters out there as my fans who are always me with me from the beginning, standing by me, celebrating me on this journey of successes, failures, and learnings. Always, all that I want to do is work harder to make you all happy and to be useful to others with this life that you all have blessed me with. Love and gratitude from the bottom of my heart. Following the mega blockbuster success of Doctor, Sivakarthikeyan will next be seen in Don which is set to release on March 25. The film is directed by debutant Cibi Chakaravarthi. SK also has Ayalaan and an untitled film with director KV Anudeep in his pipeline.
