Ponniyin Selvan I was a blockbuster hit movie that drove people to theatres. It has huge anticipation and expectation among the audience and it was based on the five-part historical fiction book written by Kalki under the same name. The film drove even people who have not been to theatres before to watch the film due to the popularity of the books. The film was the magnum opus of iconic director Mani Ratnam.
After the release of Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 in 2022, the second part is set to be released in April. It will also feature a star cast that includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Sarath Kumar, Sobhita Dhulipala and so on. The second installment of the film Ponniyin Selvan Part II will also have music composed by AR Rahman.
