In an ultimately shocking turn of events, leading playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, more popularly known as KK passed away last night, following a sudden massive heart attack. He performed at a musical concert in Kolkata last night after which he returned to his hotel. According to reports, he is said to have collapsed in his hotel room and was eventually rushed to a private hospital nearby where the doctors declared him dead. KK was 53 years old. The news has come as an unbelievable shocker to one and all and fans across the country have been taken aback hearing this.

Music director Harris Jayaraj expressed his heartfelt condolences on the demise of KK with a tweet that read, "My “Uyirin Uyire” passed away. RIP Singer KK. What a shocking news to hear when the whole world is praising his last song “Konji Konji”. I am completely shattered and my condolences to his family and friends".

Similarly, singer Shreya Ghoshal also found it hard to express her thoughts about the devastating incident. On her official Twitter page, Shreya wrote, "I am unable to wrap my head around this news. Numb. #KK Why! This is too hard to accept! Heart is shattered in pieces. One of the most humble, gentle, pure human being I have met in my life. God’s dear child was sent to spread love in the lives of millions of fans, friends and colleagues. Now God needed him back? So soon?! Cruel!! Cant imagine what his family is going through. My deepest sincerest condolences. His golden, soulful voice echoes in all our hearts. Rest in peace dear #KK🙏🏻💔".
