The ‘Singappenney’ song, being billed as an anthem for women from ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s upcoming film, Bigil, has become one of the most sensational hits in recent times. Composed by A. R. Rahman with vocals by the Oscar winner himself and Shashaa Tirupati and, lyrics penned by Vivek, the song encourages women to break free from the shackles of life and rise to the top. As the track was first leaked online a few days back, it eventually was officially released on July 23 late in the evening around 10PM, but did not make it to the Youtube India trends till early today evening (July 25). It has now been revealed that a video from one particular YouTube channel is required to complete its run on the trends for the next video to show up on the trending list. Likewise, Jyothika’s next film, Jackpot’s trailer released on July 23 at 11AM went on to reach the top of the YouTube trends in quick time and held on to the top spot with a strong showing for the rest of the day. Eventually, the Jackpot trailer released on the Sony Music South YouTube channel slipped out of the top 30 list trending list today making way for the 'Singappenney' song to head straight to the number 1 spot with over 5 million views now and is still going strong.

The ‘Singappenney’ song gives us the first glimpses of Vijay, Nayanthara and the rest of the female footballers among whom mainly featured are Indhuja, Reba Monica John, Varsha Bollamma and Gayathri Reddy. Bigil being made by director Atlee under the AGS Entertainment banner is slated for a Diwali release in October with Vijay set to appear in dual roles as father and son. The  upcoming sports action drama multi-starrer, which also has names Kathir, Vivek, Jackie Shroff, Indhuja, Daniel Balaji, Anandaraj, Yogi Babu, Amritha Iyer, Soundararaja, Devadarshini, ‘Thaadi’ Balaji, Dheena among others in supporting roles.
