Tamil actor Silambarasan TR has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai due to a throat infection. It has been confirmed that the flamboyant star is not infected with Covid-19, with fans sending in their wishes to the actor for a speedy recovery. STR will be looking to come out all guns blazing after his treatment and resume shooting for his upcoming film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, which is currently being shot in the city after it wrapped a major leg of filming in Mumbai sometime back.

Fans will be looking forward to witnessing STR in action once again as soon as he completes his treatment and joins the shooting of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu being directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon under Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh’s Vels Film International banner and featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer. Simbu has been in high spirits after the stellar response to his Maanaadu directed by Venkat Prabhu under Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions banner and featured music and background score by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

As for Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, the film touted to be a raw action thriller marks the third-time collaboration for Silambarasan with Gautham Menon and A. R. Rahman after their Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. An action-packed teaser for Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu was released on Friday, which is currently the talk of the town and gave a glimpse of Simbu's rugged rustic avatar, with praises being showered on the actor and Gautham Menon for doing a film that is a step away from their previous works. Apart from his Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, Simbu is also acting in Pathu Thala alongside Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar and another venture titled Corona Kumar under Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara and Kaashmora fame Gokul's direction.
