One of the most flamboyant stars in Tamil cinema, Silambarasan T. Rajendar lovingly called by his fans as STR or Simbu, last tasted massive success with Mani Ratnam’s action gangster multi-starrer, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which went on to become a box office blockbuster. Likewise, Simbu was also announced to be part of director Venkat Prabhu’s Maanaadu, a political entertainer, under producer Suresh Kamatchi’s V House Productions banner. Meanwhile, last week saw producer Suresh Kamatchi officially issue another announcement saying STR is out of Maanaadu and the project will be made with another hero next. That said, Simbu’s manager issued a breaking statement earlier today that the superstar will himself direct and star in a film titled Maghaa Maanaadu, which will be produced by his father T. Rajendhar's Chimbu Cine Arts banner.
