Silambarasan TR has been dropping one surprise after another over the past one year, with multiple announcements in regard to his upcoming projects. Likewise, the flamboyant star is all set to appear on match day when the Indian Premier League’s 2021 edition resumes once again starting September 19 when the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) face off. STR will be appearing on the Byjus Cricket Live special program before the CSK vs MI match starts, with Star Sports Tamil now releasing a special promo highlighting some of the special moments in the program, which will be telecast on the channel this Sunday at 6 p.m.

Simbu will be taking part in the program prior to IPL 2021’s CSK vs MI match as part of the promotions for his next project, which has been tentatively titled STR 48, and is being produced by Vels Film International. In this promo for Byjus Cricket Live, we see Silambarasan being joined by Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara director Gokul, with the multi-talented star revealing his favorite cricketer to be former Indian cricket team and Chennai Super Kings captain M. S. Dhoni. Simbu reveals that he isn’t one who usually follows cricket, but is fond of Dhoni and dedicated Suriya’s mass punch dialogue from his Singam films. We see STR telling, “Dhoni adicha ondra ton weight da.” Watch the trending video below:

Silambarasan, whose Maanaadu has been announced for a grand Diwali release in November, is currently acting in Gautham Menon’s Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu and is set to kick-off shooting his portions for Pathu Thala alongside Gautham Karthik. As for his STR 48, the project is speculated to be titled Corona Kumar and a sequel to 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi's 2013 blockbuster Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, and will be directed by Gokul. There has also been a talk doing the rounds that Vijay Sethupathi might once again reprise his role as Sumaar Moonji Kumar from IDHABA for STR 48 if it indeed turns out to be Corona Kumar, with all sights now set on Vels Film International’s announcement on the film later today.
