Shahid Kapoor is finally out doing interviews and promotional campaigns for his upcoming film Jersey. During a series of interviews, Shahid Kapoor opened up about his view on Thalapathy Vijay. With big respect and huge admiration, he goes on to say, "I'm a huge Vijay fan and I love his movies because, you know, he's a great dancer and I have always loved good dancers. Even I have a soft spot always so you know, I think Beast is going to be a fantastic film". This interview of Shahid where he spoke about Vijay gained a lot of traction and went viral all over social media.

The last time Shahid Kapoor was a part of this interview process was before the release of his previous film Kabir Singh and that was way back in 2019. Nearly 4 years later, the actor is all set and ready for his next outing, a sports-based drama film written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. He will be making his Hindi directorial debut with this one by adapting and remaking his 2019 Telugu film of the same title.

Shahid Kapoor will be seen donning the role of a former cricketer who returns to the game for his son's wish to get a jersey. Actors Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor too star in the film as supporting casts and will be seen playing pivotal roles. The film is produced by Allu Entertainment, Geetha Arts, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films. The new official trailer for the film was released yesterday (April 4) and the film is scheduled to hit the big screens on April 14.

Jersey will be going head-to-head against two of the biggest films of the year, out of which one is a pan-Indian film. It will be seen competing against Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast as well as Prashanth Neel's K.G.F: Chapter 2. It will be interesting to see these films battle it out - may the best film win!
