With just 10 days to go, Bollywood's ace actor Shahid Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of his latest movie Jersey. Although the movie was originally scheduled to release in December of last year itself, but the onset of the third wave of novel coronavirus led to the indefinite postponement of the film's release. The makers are now ready to release the movie and have started their digital promotions. The cast and makers of the film have announced that the new official trailer of the movie would be out on April 4th and it is here.

The film is an official Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster sports-based drama of the same title starring Nani in the lead role. Written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film follows Arjun Talwar, a cricket enthusiast who in his mid-30s decides to fulfill his dream of representing the Indian cricket team for his son. He tries to earn the respect of his son and not be considered a failure by him like everyone else.

The film stars Shahid Kapoor as a former cricketer who returns to the game to fulfill his son's desire. Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor too star in the film as supporting casts and will be seen playing pivotal roles. The film is produced by Allu Entertainment, Geetha Arts, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films. As of now, the makers have released small teasers of the film along with 4 songs. While filming for a cricket sequence, he suffered an injury to his forehead that needed 13 stitches.

Jersey movie is now be released on 14 April and will lock horns with Yash's highly anticipated KGF: Chapter 2 as well as with Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast. Shahid will also be seen playing Brigadier Bulsara in the upcoming action film Bull. It is said to be inspired by true events all the way from the 1980s. Jersey is also Shahid Kapoor's first movie to be made since his 2019 film Kabir Singh.
