Shah Rukh Khan's starrer thriller film Pathaan became the highest-grossing original Hindi language film in India yesterday. It has been shattering records left and rights since its initial release on 25th January. The film helmed by Siddharth Anand has Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in important roles. The high-octane spy thriller is set in the YSR spy universe and is its fourth installment film after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War and Pathaan.

The movie has grossed ₹1026 crores or $125.58 million worldwide. The makers of the film Yash Raj Film have revealed that the movie has a box office collection of ₹640 crores in India and an oversea box office of ₹386 crores. The top five highest-grossing films of all time are Pathaan at ₹511 crores, Baahubali 2, KGF 2, Dangal and Sanju. In 38 days after the release, the movie has continued to attract people in theatres. Gouri Khan wife of SRK also shared her excitement for the film smashing records as she shared a poster and said "Record Breaking Streak..."
The film marks the comeback of Shah Rukh Khan after the 2018 film Zero. The actor now has multiple films in the pipeline including Jawan directed by famous Tamil director Atlee and Dunki. King Khan plays the role of an Ex-RAW agent who must work with another ISI agent to take down a former RAW agent turned traitor in Pathaan. The film was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, broke various box office records since the first day and also became the fifth film to gross the collection of ₹1000 crores in history. The film has music composed by the duo Vishal Shekhar, and Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balahara composed the background score for the film. The movie also has Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana, Prakash Belwadi and others in supporting roles. The film also has a cameo by Salman khan.
