With multiple OTT platforms achieving great success by usurping the world's media platforms, it has able to power through and get millions of viewers each month. It is the latest technological wave surging through the internet that everyone has caught on to. Major high-level players in this field including the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + Hotstar, Apple TV+, Zee 5, Sony Liv etc. have already sunk their fangs into this business and are going strong.

Looking at the extraordinary success and profit of such companies, our very own Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, has also decided to venture into this massive goldmine. King Khan announced his very own OTT app on March 15 called SRK+. He made the official announcement through his social media account. He shared a Twitter post featuring himself with the logo 'SRK+'. He also attached a caption to the post which read, "Kuch kuch hone wala hai, OTT ki duniya mein." Anurag Kashyap excited by SRK's announcement came out and revealed their future collaboration on the OTT platform. He took this news to Twitter by quoting Shah Rukh's announcement post saying, "Dream come true! Collaborating with @iamsrk on his new OTT app, SRK+".

On the work front, SRK is currently busy filming for Pathaan starring alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. He shared the teaser for the upcoming film early in March. The teaser introduced his character as someone who has decided to adopt India as his religion. His last release on the big screen was the 2018 film Zero which also starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Pathaan will mark SRK's return to the big screen after nearly four years.

There is a lot of hype going around and a lot of anticipation riding on this film. It will reportedly inspire the start of an action film universe of sorts. Salman will also be seen in a cameo role in Pathaan as his character 'Tiger' from the blockbuster Tiger film franchise.
