'Bollywood Baadshah' Shah Rukh Khan has been confirmed to be making a cameo appearance in the highly-anticipated Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt-starrer Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva. The news of the superstar being a part of the Ayan Mukerji-directorial backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has been confirmed by actress Mouni Roy, who is playing a negative role in the film, while also describing her role to be one of the most challenging experiences in her career to date. Mouni went on to reveal Shah Rukh's cameo in Brahmastra, while speaking about her experience working in the film, which also stars legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and Telugu superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Mouni opened up about her time on the sets of Brahmastra, and what it was like to share screen space with the stars of the film, while also revealing SRK's part in the process. She said, "Working with Ranbir, Alia, Bachchan sir, Nagarjuna sir, Shah Rukh sir has also played a guest appearance in it… being a part of this world is a privilege." Talking about her role, Junoon, Mouni said, "It’s one of the most challenging roles that I have ever played. It is Ayan’s brainchild… It is the most interesting role I have gotten to play, till date."

Speculations about Shah Rukh being a part of Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva took flight after the film's trailer launch in June when fans began sharing screenshots from the visuals that were released, with many pointing out an individual holding a trident with fire around him to be none other than the Bollywood superstar. In addition, SRK's alleged Brahmastra look as 'Vanarastra' (inspired by Lord Hanuman) was leaked online and showed him on his knees while soaked in blood, with the visuals closing off with the signature pose of his arms wide open and golden sparks visible at his left foot. Another screenshot showed Shah Rukh's Vanarastra character being seen elevated in the air, while Lord Hanuman's silhouette in bright gold appears.

Shah Rukh Khan's cameo in Brahmastra: Part One will be his next after he recently made similar appearances in the Hindi version of Madhavan's Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha. The actor was last seen headlining a film in 2018 in Zero and is currently working on three upcoming biggies - Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. Among them, Shah Rukh will be seen first alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in Pathaan, which will open in cinemas worldwide on January 25, 2023. It will be followed by blockbuster Tamil director Atlee's directorial debut in Bollywood titled Jawan, which will also mark the introduction of 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara and 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander in Hindi cinema, and will arrive in the cinemas on June 2, 2023. SRK will then be seen opposite Taapsee Pannu in acclaimed hit filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki on December 22, 2023.
