Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has officially announced his next film and as widely reported, he will be joining hands with blockbuster filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The announcement was made this evening (April 19) with a special video that piques our curiosity. Rajkumar Hirani is one of the fewest filmmakers in the country with 100% success, best known for directing films like Munnabhai MBBS (Vasool Raja's original version), 3 Idiots, and PK. The ace filmmaker's collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan is definitely a treat for the film buffs and the fans have already pinned high hopes on this one.

This Shah Rukh Khan starrer has been titled Dunki and it will feature Taapsee Pannu as the female lead. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Jio Studios, in association with Rajkumar Hirani Films, this movie is written by Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijaat Joshi, and Kanika Dhillon. Apart from SRK and Taapsee, Vicky Kaushal is rumoured to play a cameo role, but an official word regarding that is awaited. The shooting of Dunki has commenced and if reports are to be believed, the film will be extensively shot in Punjab. This SRK - Rajkumar Hirani film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on December 22, 2023, which means that we are 1.5 years away from witnessing the film.

Shah Rukh Khan took to his official Twitter page to announce the film and his tweet has turned viral among the fans. Sharing the film announcement video, SRK tweeted, "Dear @RajkumarHirani sir, Aap toh Mere Santa Claus nikle. Aap shuru karo main time pe pahunch jaunga. actually main toh set par hi rehne lagunga. Feeling humbled & excited to finally work with you. Bringing to you all #Dunki in cinemas on 22nd December 2023". More details regarding Dunki are awaited. Shah Rukh Khan's next release will be Pathan which is scheduled to release on January 25, 2023. Pathan, directed by Siddharth Anand of War fame, has Deepika Padukone and John Abraham playing other leads. Apart from Dunki and Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan is also working on his highly anticipated film with director Atlee.
