The Saw franchise which started in 2004 under the directorial debut of James Wan was a cult success and was imprinted in pop culture almost immediately. The film's legacy has endured six sequels and two spinoffs, titled Jigsaw and Spiral: From the Book of Saw. But being a part of the Saw universe, they are considered to be the 8th and 9th installment of the franchise.

Fans of the Saw series have been eagerly waiting for its next installment and dying to play another game, we have good news. Another brand new Saw movie has been confirmed to be in the works, with Bloody Disgusting exclusively learning that Kevin Greutert will be directing the next installment who earlier directed Saw VI and Saw 3D, also known as Saw: The Final Chapter. The untitled film will be the tenth installment in the Saw franchise.

Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures will be re-teaming for the upcoming installment of the billion-dollar franchise, which kicked off their torture porn franchise with Saw, a nasty, deceptively simple psychological thriller that birthed a new horror genre. The film is also all set for release on 27 October 2023, right in time for Halloween.

The plot of the new entry is being kept under wraps, but the studio promises "the film will capture fans’ hearts — and other body parts — with all-new twisted, ingenious traps and a new mystery to solve.” Franchise producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules said, “We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love. And part of that is giving the reins to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, which is still one of the fans’ favorites in the entire series. More details will be revealed soon.”
