Sasi wins Best Director of the Year award
Director Sasi, maker of Moser Baer Entertainment's much-acclaimed Tamil film Poo (2008), starring Srikanth and Parvathy Menon in the lead role, has been adjudged as the Best Director of the Year by the jury of the Ahmedabad International Film Festival.
Since Sasi was not�present at the venue, the award, carrying a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of 1250 dollars, was sent to the director directly by the Directorate of the Ahmedabad Film Festival. Poo was screened on the first day of the festival, held from June 25 to June 28, a press note from Moser Baer said.
Notably, Poo recently won several awards, especially from the media, including Best Film award by Makkal TV, Best Actress (Parvathi), Best Supporting Actor (Ramu), Best Story (Tamizhchelvan) and Best Producer (Moser Baer) awards from Vikatan, Best Producer (Moser Baer) and Best Music Director (S.S. Kumaran) awards from Jaya TV and Best Producer award from Kalaignar TV Popular Awards. The film was nominated in 6 categories in Vijay TV awards including best debut (actress), which went to Parvathi.
