Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for his next film, Varisu which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Thozha and Maharshi fame. The shooting of the film is taking place in Hyderabad with the lead cast and the makers have been shooting important sequences in the film. That being said, actor Sarath Kumar took to his official Instagram page to share a new picture of him from the sets of Varisu and he sounded excited about being a part. Sharing the picture, Sarath Kumar wrote, "Arriving at the location to start another day at Varisu shooting in Hyderabad". The picture has garnered the attention of the fans and has been doing good rounds.

Varisu is produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film will also have a release in Telugu and the Telugu version is called Varisudu. Varisu features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and this will be her second outing in Tamil cinema following Karthi's Sulthan. National award winning music composer Thaman has composed the tunes for this Vijay starrer and the fans are eagerly looking forward to hearing the songs. Varisu will be a family entertainer that will have a mix of action and romance as well and it is expected to showcase Vijay in a refreshing makeover.
Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Khushbu Sundar, Yogi Babu, Sangitha Krish, Srikanth, Shaam, and Samyuktha Shanmuganathan form the supporting cast in Varisu which is scheduled to hit the screens for the festive occasion of Pongal in January 2023. The shooting of Varisu is expected to be wrapped up by September and after taking a small break, Vijay will begin work on his next film, Thalapathy 67 which will be helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the Vikram director. The film would mark Vijay and Lokesh's second outing together after the humongous success of Master.
