Santhanam's Sabhaapathy which released last month opened to a mixed response from the fans and critics and it failed to leave a mark at the box office. The film featured Santhanam playing the role of a man who has stammering issues and he played the character with conviction and earnestness. Sabhaapathy was also noted for its interesting premise. Unfortunately, the film failed to strike a chord with the audience. Having said that, the makers have now released a new deleted scene from the film which did not make it to the final theatrical version due to various reasons. In this deleted scene, we see Santhanam appearing for an interview and as usual, he is being denied the job because of his stammering.

Sabhaapathy was a film that showcased Santhanam in a different dimension and for the first time, we saw him playing a calm/subtle character. His innocence-filled performance was praised by the audience during the time of the movie's release. The satellite rights of Sabhaapathy has been sold to Colors Tamil channel and we can expect the movie to be premiered on the channel soon. Sabhaapathy is directed by debutant R Srinivasa Rao and has music scored by Sam CS. Newcomer Preeti Verma plays the female lead, while MS Bhaskar plays a crucial role.

The combination scenes of Santhanam and MS Bhaskar were widely enjoyed by the audiences in the theatres. Pugazh who rose to fame and attained wide popularity through the second season of Cook with Comali made his debut as an actor with Sabhaapathy. Swaminathan, Uma Padmanabhan, Sayaji Shinde, Vamsi Krishna form the supporting cast. Up next, Santhanam will be seen playing the lead in Agent Kannayiram, the Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed Telugu film, Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya. Agent Kannayiram is directed by Manoj Beedha of Vanjagar Ulagam fame. For now, check out the newly released deleted scene from Sabhaapathy here:
