Santhanam has officially announced the release plans of his next film, Gulu Gulu which is directed by Rathna Kumar (dialogue writer of Master) of Meyaadha Maan and Aadai fame. Gulu Gulu has been officially announced to hit the screens on July 29 and the update has made the fans look forward to seeing the film. Santhanam took to his official Twitter page to make the announcement about the release and it was made through a poster. Santhanam called Gulu Gulu to be a fun and frolic entertainer and added that he has attempted something new with this Rathna Kumar directorial.

Sharing the poster, he tweeted, "#GuluGulu from July 29th , get ready for a fun and frolic entertainer. Something new in my career, see you all in theaters 😎 #GuluGulufromJuly29". Gulu Gulu is touted to be a travel based comedy entertainer that will show Santhanam in a completely new dimension. Rathna Kumar scored good points with comedy in his debut directorial, Meyaadha Maan, and it is going to be interesting to see what he has in store for the audience with Gulu Gulu. Gulu Gulu has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan whose previous association with Santhanam in Parris Jeyaraj was a big success among the masses.

Doctor fame Vijay Kartik Kannan has handled the cinematography while Master and Vikram sensation Philomin Raj has taken care of the editing. Jacki and Don Ashok have handled the art direction and stunt choreography respectively. The film is produced by S Raj Narayanan under the banner of Circle Box Entertainment. With just three more weeks there for the film's release, the makers will be kickstarting the promotions actively very soon. Santhanam had recently wrapped up the shooting of his untitled next, #Santa15 under the direction of Prashant Raj. Santa 15 features Tanya Hope as the female lead and has music composed by Arjun Janya.
