Dhanush is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film, Sir which is being made as a Telugu - Tamil bilingual. Sir is the title of the Telugu version, while the Tamil version is titled Vaathi. The film is said to address an important educational issue and it is expected to showcase Dhanush in a completely new dimension. Popular Malayalam actress Samyuktha Menon is the female lead of this project and her pairing opposite Dhanush is expected to look refreshing on screen. Meanwhile, a section of media had recently reported that Samyuktha has walked out of the film due to undisclosed reasons and this news spread instantly on social media.

To clear the air, the makers made an immediate clarification calling it a false news. It was confirmed that Samyuktha is very much a part of Sir / Vaathi and the fans were requested not to believe in false rumours. This clarification will now put an end to all the speculations and rumours. Sir / Vaathi is directed by Venky Atluri of Tholi Prema and Rang De fame and has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar who is in great form in the recent past. Produced by Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas, this film has cinematography handled by Dinesh Krishnan and editing by Naveen Nooli.

The film was officially launched with a formal pooja in the beginning of this year and the shoot commenced at Hyderabad this week. Notably, Sir marks Dhanush's debut in Telugu cinema and it looks like an exciting project is on cards. Dhanush's next release will be Maaran which is currently in the post production stages. Directed by Karthick Naren and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, Maaran is said to have a direct OTT release on Disney Hotstar platform. Apart from Vaathi and Maaran, Dhanush also has movies like The Gray Man, Naane Varuven, an untitled film each with directors Ram Kumar, Arun Matheswaran, Mari Selvaraj, and others.
