Tis the wedding season and popular Bengali singer Mekhla Dasgupta, who rose to fame after participating as one among the contestants on the ZEE Bangla singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, tied the knot with her long-term boyfriend Arkaprabha Chowdhury, a pass out from IIM, in a traditional wedding ceremony on December 1. Looking gorgeous in her red lehenga-choli, Mekhla complimented her wedding attire with traditional jewellery, while Arkaprabha was his dashing best in maroon sherwani and a golden kurta, which he matched off with a red pagdi. The wedding witnessed several notable celebrities wish the young couple among whom included singer Joy Sarkar, Shovan Ganguly, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame Gourab Sarkar, Durnibar and many others. 

Mekhla’s wedding reception was held in Siliguri, the home town of Arkaprabha. The couple befriended each other via mutual friends before love blossomed between them and the two decided to enter wedlock after 8 years of courtship. Speaking about their relationship, Mekhla stated that during a program that Arkaprabha had always been supportive of her passion and encouraged her to keep pursuing her dream. Mekhla, who started learning music at the age of 5, emerged as one among the top 5 finalists in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2016, and made her playback singing debut in the Bengali film Dekh Kemon Lage with the song 'Baje Bina' composed by Jeet Gannguli. Since then, she has done a few music albums and appeared on several TV shows.
