A film that is being awaited by fans around the country, Baahubali director SS Rajamouli's next magnum opus titled RRR produced under DVV Danayya's DVV Entertainment has witnessed several release date changes mainly due to the pandemic. Starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles, the upcoming film being billed as India's biggest period action drama has now been officially announced to hit screens worldwide on January 7, 2022, which is a week before the Sankranthi festival. DVV Entertainment unveiled a new poster featuring both Ram Charan and Jr. NTR along with Bollywood superstars Alia Bhatt and Ajay, while announcing the RRR new release date.

SS Rajamouli's ambitious RRR is releasing a week before the Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati-starrer Bheemla Nayak, which is hitting screens on January 12 and is an official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Likewise, Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata featuring Keerthy Suresh as the female lead is also coming out as a Sankranthi release on January 13, while 'Thala' Ajith Kumar's Valimai in Tamil is also clear for a worldwide theatrical release on the same date. Despite several release delays, the makers of RRR have maintained a strong stance of getting the film released only in theatres first and the latest announcement will no doubt come as a major delight for everyone.

RRR will be releasing in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages, with fans eagerly waiting to witness SS Rajamouli's next visual spectacle after his Baahubali films in 2017. Expectations for the film are massive considering an action-packed teaser and promos showcasing Ram Charan as Alluri Sitarama Raju and Jr NTR as Komaram Bheem, freedom fighters from Andhra Pradesh in the pre-Independence period in the 1920s, received a staggering response. The pan-Indian venture will also see Tamil actor Samuthirakani in a pivotal role, with Irish actors Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody cast as the antagonists. Furthermore, Olivia Morris, Shriya Saran, Chatrapathi Sekhar and Rajeev Kanakala are also a part of RRR's cast, with the film's budget estimated to be around 350 crores.
