Summer is always considered to be one of the best phases in the trade scenes because of the holiday season. The entire two months of April and May is the holiday time for the school and colleges and as a result, you tend to see a lot more crowd turning up to the theatres, compared to other regular days. However, it looks like this summer has not been quite satisfying for the theatre exhibitors.

Rhevanth Charan, executive director of Rohini Silver Screens, took to his Twitter space to share that this summer has been very poor in terms of collections and audience occupancy. He also added that Kanchana 3 and Avengers: Endgame were the only two saviours of the summer, helping in the box office numbers.

"If not for #Kanchana3 and #AvengersEndgame,This summer has been very poor, one of the worst in the past few years.", tweeted Rhevanth. However, the trade is expecting to finish the 2019 summer on a grand high with the release of Suriya's NGK. This Selvaraghavan directorial has got some really good expectations, both, in the trade circle, and among the audience. Let us also hope that the summer of 2019 ends on a successful note with the performance of NGK.
