The young and talented Regina Cassandra is celebrating her birthday today (December 13) and wishes have been pouring in from all quarters for the star actress. Marking the special occasion, the first look poster of her next film, Saakini Daakini has been unveiled and here are the exciting details about the same. As already known, Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas are playing the leads in Saakini Daakini, the Telugu remake of the blockbuster hit Korean action-comedy, Midnight Runners. The film is directed by Sudheer Varma, who is known for helming movies like Swamy Ra Ra, Keshava, Ranarangam.

The first look poster of the film was released this evening and the poster has instantly grabbed the attention of the fans and film buffs. The poster has a fun vibe to it and it looks like a light-hearted comedy entertainer is on its way. Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas are great together and their equation is going to be one of the interesting aspects of the movie. Produced by Suresh Productions in association with Guru Films and Kross Pictures, Saakini Daakini has music composed by Mikey Mc Cleary, while the cinematography and editing departments are headed by Richard Prasad and Viplav Nyshadam respectively.

Akshay Poolla has penned the screenplay and dialogues for this film. The story of Saakini Daakini revolves around two students at a Police Academy who set out to find a gang of human traffickers at midnight. The original Korean film, Midnight Runners featured two male actors in the lead roles, but interestingly, the Telugu remake, Saakini Daakini, has been adapted into a female-centric film. Nivetha Thomas was last seen in Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab which released earlier this year in theatres, turning out to be a blockbuster hit.
