Rashmika Mandanna responded to the trolling she has had to face for not watching Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, who also essayed the lead role. Speaking to reporters when she attended an event in Hyderabad on Thursday, the actress said that she recently watched the Kannada blockbuster and also extended her wishes to the team for their work in the film. The controversy boiled over after Rashmika sometime back said that she didn't watch Kantara, which caused a big reaction among a section of fans, who began trolling her on social media. She also posted a detailed note on Instagram on November 9 explaining how she had been receiving hate and requested everyone to be kind to others.

Addressing the controversy over the last couple of months, Rashmika told reporters, "I just have love for them. I don’t know what else I’m supposed to say about it. It’s left to them." When queried about if she’s watched Kantara, the national sensation explained: "I was asked if I watched the film 2-3 days after its release. I couldn’t back then. I’ve now watched it and also messaged the team. They also thanked me for the message. The world doesn’t know what’s happening on the inside. We can’t put a camera on our personal lives and show it. See, the world doesn’t know what is happening on the inside. We can’t always put a camera on our personal life and show it. We are not these people who will release messages also. What people say about our personal life doesn’t matter. What they are saying about us professionally is what we will take and work on it." Regarding the rumors about being banned by the Kannada film producers, Rashmika said, "So far, no producer has banned me."

On the work front, Rashmika will be seen next in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu in Tamil releasing for Pongal in January 2023, and also soon reprise her role as Srivalli for the second installment of Allu Arjun's Pushpa franchise. She also has Hindi films lined up like the spy thriller Mission Majnu with Sidharth Malhotra and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal.
