Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's starrer untitled film, which was being shot in Spain, started its new shoot schedule in Mumbai, a few days ago. Producer Boney Kapoor has been cast in it as well, marking his acting debut. However, the shoot had to a standstill due to a major mishap on the sets of the film. The sets which were mounted at the Chitrakoot Grounds in suburban Andheri West were completely destroyed due to a fire accident. There have been several reports that one person named Manish Devashi lost his life in the fire while many crew members sustained minor injuries.

The smoke grabbed the attention of numerous onlookers who were present nearby. The fire brigade team arrived on the spot in some time and reported that the fire had burned through 3 floors of the set and the makers of the film have incurred a massive financial loss due to the accident. The fire ignited at around 4.30 pm and took five hours to douse with the help of eight fire engines, five water jetties, and other equipment.

Ashok Dubey, General Secretary of Federation of Western India Cine Employees, revealed that one of the sets of Rajshri Productions' new film was also gutted in the blaze. Another set that was close by also suffered due to this fire is that of Rajshri Productions. A source at FWICE revealed, “All three floors of the sets were burnt down. Rajshri and Luv Ranjan both packed up their sets as soon as the fire started. There is some chaos here as people are saying some crew members are missing, we don’t have the exact details yet".

Ashok Dubey also went on to state the contractor who erected these sets was the same person who had erected the film set at Bangur Nagar which had caught fire a year and a half back. He also said that fires break out quite often on film sets and that they have failed to understand on what basis the municipal corporation gives permission to build sets and that fire safety rules should be followed.
