First big official statement on Sourav Ganguly's biopic - here's what Ranbir Kapoor had to say! Don't miss it!

Ranbir Kapoor, who won praises for his acting in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju, confirmed that is working on the biopic of singer Kishore Kumar. He said the film had been in the work for 11 years and they have been writing it with Anurag Basu, at an event. The award-winning actor is touring for the promotions of his upcoming film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. In Kolkata, the star played cricket with Sourav Ganguly popularly known as Dada amid a team of young players. They were seen sporting t-shirts promoting the film, with the text Ranbir’s Makkar XI on the actor's and Dada’s Jhoothi XI on Ganguly's t-shirt.

At a press meet for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar in Kolkata, Ranbir was asked if he was doing a biopic on cricketer Sourav Ganguly. The actor replied ”I Think Dada (Sourav Ganguly) is a living legend not just in India but around the world. A biopic on him will be very special. Unfortunately, I have not been offered this film, I think the makers of Luv films are still working on the script.” He added that he hadn’t heard anything about the biopic yet, “So I don't know”. 

The actor also shared about his newly born daughter Raha Kapoor saying he doesn’t wasn't to leave his home and he keeps looking at her photos. He said “seeing that smile breaks your heart”. The celebrity couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the knot in April last year. The talented actor, who was last seen in the big-scale fantasy film Brahmastra, marks the first on-screen collaboration with Shraddha Kapoor with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The colourful romantic comedy-drama written and directed by Luv Ranjan and produced under the banner Luv Films is set to be released on March 8. The OTT rights of the film were bagged by Netflix.
