R. Parthiban, who insists on making something unique and entirely different in each of his films has done it yet again with the recently released Iravin Nizhal. The film opened to mixed review from fans and critics alike as well as the general public but Parthiban was praised a lot for his efforts to make this non-linear single-shot film.
Many have found this to be an incredible feat for the Tamil film industry for delivering such an amazing film format. Among many, Superstar Rajinikanth has also hopped on to the bandwagon to praise the film and its maker. So much so that, the star actor invited Parthiban into his home to commend and laud him in person.
He took a picture with the Iravin Nizhal director and also wrote a letter to him after watching the film which has both gone viral all over social media platforms. The letter read, "To my friend Parthiban, who shot the entire film in one shot with an incredible effort, won everyone's praise and set a world record.. to all his crew, to the respected AR Rahman.. especially to the cinematographer Arthur Wilson who shot the film. This is not the first time Parthiban has done something no one has ever seen before. His 2019 drama thriller Oththa Seruppu Size 7 is produced, written, and directed by Parthiban himself. He also stars in it as literally the only character in the movie. The film entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for having a single person writing, directing, solo acting, and producing a film. The film was received well and surprised the audience as well as the film industry. The film is now being remade in Hindi starring Abhishek Bachchan with Parthipan helming it once again.
