Thangalaan is the next big film of actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram after his stunning performance in Ponniyin Selvan: 2. It is helmed by path-breaking director Pa. Ranjith and has created huge anticipation among people. It also has an interesting cast that includes Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, and Daniel Caltargione and is set in the period before independence. From the glimpses videos released by the makers, it can be seen that the film will be raw and original and is set in the Kolar Gold Fields.

Well-known Producer Dhananjayan recently gave an exclusive interview with Galatta Media. He shared some intriguing details about upcoming projects like Kanguva, Thangalaan etc. When asked about Vikram’s Thangalaan, the producer said the last schedule of shooting for the film has resumed now. "Myself, Ranjith sir and Gnanavel sir are discussing because we want to complete shooting for the film as soon as possible. Then, there are huge plans. We want to take it worldwide. Tamil Cinema will be proud of the film and it will make Studio Green Gnanavel Sir and Ranjith sir and Vikram sir proud. There is huge hard work of Vikram sir and a great story by Ranjith sir. I believe it will be great because I am astonished to see how the story is being made into film", said the producer.
The producer then said that he had read the full story of Thanglaan Story and was astonished, “Such an amazing story, see how they have developed it, they have made a great story. So, for that Vikram sir is putting in his heart and soul in it. They (Thangalaan team) are under huge pressure because they have to wrap the shooting fast, do the post-production and release the film.
