Blockbuster Kannada filmmaker Prashanth Neel is celebrating his birthday today and wishes are pouring in from all quarters. Having become a nationwide phenomenon with the success of his KGF films starring Kannada actor Yash in the lead role, the hit director is currently busy filming his next biggie, the highly-anticipated Salaar, which has Telugu superstar Prabhas in the lead role and is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on September 28. With a major chunk of production on Salaar already wrapped and filming expected to come to a conclusion soon, production banner Hombale Films has now released a birthday special video dedicated to Prashanth Neel from the sets of the upcoming film, while also giving audiences a glimpse of Prabhas and actor Shruti Haasan, who is playing the female lead.

Post the massive success of K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018) and K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022), Prashanth Neel became one of the most sought-after names from across the country and expectations are high now for his Salaar with Prabhas. The buzz surrounding the action thriller film has been huge ever since production began rolling and fans are looking forward to an out-and-out intense and action-packed entertainer. Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran too extended his birthday wishes by posting a picture of Prashanth Neel from the sets of Salaar. He wrote, "Happy birthday Prashanth! Being made on a grand scale, Prashanth Neel's Salaar featuring music by hit Kannada composer Ravi Basrur will see Prabhas and Shruti Haasan as the lead pair, with Prithviraj reportedly playing the antagonist, while Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Easwari Rao, Madhu Guruswamy among others will be seen in key roles. After Salaar, Prashanth Neel will be joining hands with RRR star Jr. NTR for the tentatively titled NTR 31, which will roll into production in March 2024.
