On a completely unexpected note, popular Tamil lyricist Lalithanand passed away on the afternoon hours of Sunday, February 20 and his demise has come as a big shocker for the Tamil film fraternity. Official reports suggest that Lalithanand was unwell for the last few weeks following which his health deteriorated eventually. He breathed his last at 3.35 PM on Sunday. Lalithanand has left for the heavenly abode and his demise has come as a shocker for many. Lalithanand is best known for writing the widely popular hit song, 'En Veetula Naan Irundhene' from Vijay Sethupathi's Idharkkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara.

Lalithanand made his debut as a lyric writer with the Jai film, Adhe Neram Adhe Idam. Lalithanand has also penned lyrics in prominent movies like Jiiva's Rowthiram, Lokesh Kanagaraj's debut directorial Maanagaram, Karthi's Kashmora, Vijay Sethupathi's Junga, Cheran's Thirumanam, Keerthi Pandian's Anbirkiniyal, and more. He frequently collaborated with director Gokul on his movies and the duo have already worked together on the songs of Gokul's upcoming directorial, Corona Kumar. As already known, Silambarasan TR will be acting in the lead role in Corona Kumar which will be helmed by Gokul and it is expected to be a complete laugh riot.

The first single track from the film, titled 'CSK Singangala', was released last year, and the song was penned by Lalithanand. He is said to have written the other songs in the album as well. Keeping aside Corona Kumar, there are a few more upcoming films that have the contribution of Lalithanand, the lyricist. Apart from being a lyricist, Lalithanand has also published two of his poetry books - Lemuriavil Irundha Kaadhali Veedu and Oru Elumichaiyin Varalaru.
