In a shocking incident, American singer Maeta was bitten by a snake during the shooting of a music video. The incident, which was captured on video, was later shared by the pop singer on social media last week and has since gone viral. Maeta, who was signed by Jay Z for his management label Roc Nation earlier this year, is seen surrounded by several snakes in the video. Dressed in a black label dress, the R&B singer is seen all smiles while lying on a carpet before one of the snakes makes its way up to her chin and bites her. 

Maeta, who was taken aback by the incident, pushes away the snake immediately and can be seen in pain. One person off-camera can be heard saying the singer was bit and is in pain. "Oh it bit her like this," the person said. Posting the video on Instagram, the 21-year-old wrote in the caption: "What I go through to make videos for y'all." Sharing the video on Twitter as well, Maeta wrote, "Never again." PEOPLE has reported that none of the snakes used for the shooting of the music video were venomous. The singer didn't sustain any other injuries apart from being bitten on her chin. Maeta garnered a fan following during her teen years after she began posting songs on SoundCloud. Her popularity shot up earlier this year after she was signed by Jay Z's Roc Nation and hahs since released her debut album Habits.
