Pooja Gandhi (Sanjana) loves action. But the Mungaru Male girl is not the type to sit on the sidelines and watch the action, preferring to participate. It was in Anu, the Kannada remake of the Telugu film Anasuya, that Pooja Gandhi participated in action sequences. There were three action scenes she had to perform. Much to her satisfaction, she did them well and emerged uninjured in the end.

Pooja plays the role of a reporter in the movie which also has Rashmi of Dhuniya fame in the role of a medical student. The is Shivaganapathy's first venture as an independent director. Earlier, he had worked as assistant director in the Telugu version, Anasuya.
