Sarath Kumar met the press earlier in the day to discuss about Ponniyin Selvan, and several other projects of his, including that of Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu. During the interaction, Sarath Kumar revealed an interesting tidbit which has caught the attention of the fans on social media.

Sarath Kumar revealed that Thalapathy Vijay really likes the 'Ponni Nadhi' song from Ponniyin Selvan and he regularly hums the track during the shooting of Varisu. This information garnered wide attention on social media and the fans are delighted to know this interesting tidbit about Vijay's liking towards Ponniyin Selvan and the songs. It can be noted that Vijay was the initial choice to play Vanthiya Thevan when Ponniyin Selvan was planned but due to date issues, the collaboration couldn't happen. The star actor is currently shooting for his next film Varisu which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Thozha and Maharshi fame and has music composed by S Thaman. The film is also being made in Telugu and the Telugu version is called Vaarusudu.
