Pathu thala censored ua silambarasan a r rahman gautham karthik obeli n krishna - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Silambarasan TR's Pathu Thala is the talk of the town as the highly-anticipated gangster drama is only a few days away from its worldwide theatrical release on March 30. The upcoming film directed by Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Obeli N. Krishna and produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green in association with Jayantilal Gada's Pen Studios banner features music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, and is currently one of the hottest and most-awaited ventures in recent times as it will see Simbu in a full-fledged role as an underworld don. With a star-studded audio and trailer launch event held recently in Chennai, the expectations for Pathu Thala have skyrocketed, with the makers revealing the film has been censored with a 'U/A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on Wednesday, March 22.

The buzz for Pathu Thala shot up after an action-packed trailer was released last week at the film's audio launch ceremony held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. The music is another major USP and A. R. Rahman has once again delivered an interesting album, which has climbed to the top of the charts in quick time since its release. Fans also got to witness STR's new transformation at the grand audio release event, who left everyone stunned with his powerful speech and a surprise dance performance. Pathu Thala is inspired from the 2017 Kannada blockbuster Mufti starring Dr. Shivarajkumar and Srimurali, with Silambarasan and Gautham Karthik portraying their roles as a don and an undercover police officer in the Tamil version.

Apart from STR and Gautham Karthik, Pathu Thala has an ensemble cast featuring the likes of Priya Bhavani Shankar playing the role of a Tehsildar, while Gautham Menon is the antagonist, with Kalaiyarasan, Teejay Arunasalam, Redin Kingsley, Anu Sithara, Manushyaputhiran among others cast in key roles. Simbu will hoping for Pathu Thala to hit the bullseye considering his last two films, Maanaadu (2021) and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I: The Kindling (2022), turned out to be phenomenal box office successes, while also garnering massive critical acclaim.
