Popular Tamil director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, known best for her films like Vanakkam Chennai starring Mirchi Shiva and Priya Anand, and Kaali with Vijay Antony, is now back with her next - a ZEE5 Original series titled Paper Rocket. The upcoming web series includes a star cast featuring the likes of Kalidas Jayaram, Tanya Ravichandran, and 96 fame Gouri G. Kishan in the lead roles, followed by Poornima Bhagyaraj, Chinni Jayanth, G.M.Kumar, Karunakaran, Kaali Venkat, K. Renuka, Dr. Dheeraj, Nagineedu.V, Nirmal Palazhi, Abishek, Priyadarshini among others and has been announced for a premiere on the ZEE5 platform on July 29. Billed to be a heart-warming drama, the much-awaited Paper Rocket official trailer was launched in a grand manner on Thursday, July 21, and gives us our first big glimpse at what to expect when the show begins streaming in the next few days. 

Paper Rocket arks Kiruthiga's debut in the digital space and the first visuals are convincing at their best. Produced under Sreenidhi Sagar's Rise East Productions banner, the buzz for the web series has been quite high ever since it was first announced in 2021 and will be available on the ZEE5 platform in Tamil and Telugu languages. With a story and screenplay written by Kiruthiga, Paper Rocket also has a highly-talented technical team on board among whom include cinematographers Richard M. Nathan and Gavemic U Ary, and editor Lawrence Kishore, while the background score has been composed by Simon K. King. 

The synopsis for Paper Rocket is as follows: "Six strangers embark on a road trip across the length and breadth of Tamil Nadu to find closure on their personal challenges. During the road trip, each one of them wants to fulfill a major wish on their bucket list, but it’s a bumpy ride for them – one filled with disappointments and frustrations. How will the protagonist, Jeeva, help them fulfill their wishes? Paper Rocket: A light-hearted, feel-good show with a splash of philosophy, hope, quirk, adventure, and peace!"
