Acclaimed Tamil filmmaker and activist Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions is collaborating with Arun Balaji's Balloon Pictures for an untitled film starring Guru Somasundaram and Sanchana Natarajan in the lead roles. The upcoming film, which rolled into production in June, is progressing at a steady pace, with new shooting spot stills now officially released on social media showing the entire crew watching the making of an important sequence. Pa. Ranjith as a producer has been making strong content-driven projects and his latest production venture under his former associate Dhinakaran Sivalingam's direction is said to be a comical film that will have emotional elements.

According to reports, Pa. Ranjith's yet-to-be-titled production venture will revolve around the life journey of a drunkard being played by Guru Somasundaram, while Sanchana Natarajan is the female lead after she delivered a power-packed performance in 2021's boxing drama Sarpatta Parambarai. Apart from the lead pair, the film also stars Merku Thodarchi Malai fame Anthony, Maran, John Vijay, and Sabitha Rai and is being shot completely in and around Chennai. The film will include music by Sean Roldan, followed by cinematography by Roopesh. Check out the stills from Pa. Ranjith's next below:

As for Pa. Ranjith's other projects, the filmmaker will soon be releasing the much-awaited Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, which had an interesting teaser introducing the star cast in an interesting manner released recently. He has also begun filming his next biggie, the tentatively titled Chiyaan 61, with National Award-winning actor Vikram under the Studio Green banner and will see the blockbuster director collaborating with composer G. V. Prakash Kumar for the first time. The Kaala director had also announced during the Vikram audio launch that he will be joining hands with 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan for a film that will be set in the backdrop of Madurai. Ranjith had also announced sometime back that he will be making his directorial debut in Bollywood in a biopic based on the life of Jharkhand tribal leader Birsa Munda, who fought against British colonial oppressors in the 19th century, which will be produced by Shareen Mantri and Kishor Arora under Namah Pictures. On the production front, Ranjith's Neelam Productions has a number of ventures in the pipeline among which include J Baby, Bommai Nayagi, and Vettuvam to name a notable few.
