Director Obeli. N. Krishna has made an announcement regarding the promotion strategy of his next directorial venture, Pathu Thala, starring Silambarasan T.R. The director made a statement regarding Simbu's absence in the recently released promo video of the movie. The director put a full stop to the controversies revolving around it with his statement. He stated that not having Simbu in the promo video is part of the strategy and that the producer Gnanavel Raja has a clear idea for the promotion activities of the film. He further stated the team's zero tolerance towards hate and abuse in the tweet, "We hate, hate speech"

Following the massive success of Maanaadu and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, Silambarasan's Pathu Thala has become one of Indian cinema's most anticipated films. Obeli. N. Krishna is making a Tamil film after an eight-year hiatus, which has added to the film's buzz as his previous Tamil films, Sillunu Oru Kaadhal and Nedunchalai, were big hits. Pathu Thala, his next film, is the official adaptation of Mufti. A. R. Rahman composed the music, his second collaboration with Krishna after Sillunu Oru Kaadhal. The team recently released Pathu Thala's first single, Namma Satham, which quickly rose to the top of the charts. In Pathu Thala, Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar share the spotlight with Silambarasan in the lead roles.
