The Madras high court has issues notice to 12 persons and organisers of the Indian Premier League (IPL), for their alleged 'indecent' dance performances during the inauguration of the IPL Season 5 in Chennai earlier this year.

The 12 persons mentioned in the petition includes Bollywood stars, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla, BCCI chief N. Srinivasan, American pop star Katy Perry, Australian cricketer Douglas Bollinger and officials of the Sony Set Max television, which telecast the event.

In his petition, K Jebakumar, an advocate claimed that the opening ceremony of IPL, held at YMCA grounds, were uncensored and indecent, which embarrassed the women and children. Justice A Selvam before whom the petition came up for hearing posted the case to July 31.
