Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage announced during his appearance on Kelly Clarkson's talk show recently that he and his wife Riko Shibata are expecting their first child together, while also revealing the gender of the baby. Expressing joy at the development, the Hollywood superstar said that he is set to become a father to a girl on Clarkson's show. Cage, who has been busy of late promoting his upcoming film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, in a rare television appearance after nearly 14 years said, "I'm gonna have a little girl." He added, "I'm gonna announce some big news for everybody -- I'm gonna have a little girl."

Apart from the announcement of he and his wife expecting their first child together, Cage revealed the baby's name stating that it will have a connection to the song 'Across the Universe' from The Beatles' 1970 album Let It Be, which he has said is his favorite track ever written. He also mentioned that the name has a link to his father's name, August Coppola, saying, "Her name is gonna be Lennon Auggie. I'm gonna call her Lenny for short." Cage and Shibata got hitched last year in Las Vegas and it is his fifth marriage overall. He already shares sons, Weston Cage Coppola and Kal-El Cage, from his previous marriages to Christina Fulton and Alice Kim. Cage was also married to actress Patricia Arquette, followed by singer and songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, and Erika Koike.

On the work front, Nicolas Cage's The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent has opened to glowing reviews from fans and critics and will next be seen in the action film The Retirement Plan, followed by Western ventures The Old Way and Butcher's Crossing, and the dark fantasy horror-comedy film Renfield in which he will be playing Count Dracula.
