Malayalam actor N. D. Prasad, who is well known for playing the villain in the Nivin Pauly starrer 2016 film Action Hero Biju, Iba, and Karmani, as well as a few other minor roles, was found dead by hanging at his residence on Sunday (June 26) at 7: 30 pm. According to the reports, Prasad was found hanging from a tree at his residence in Kalamassery, near Kochi. He was 43. Belonging to the Kavungaprambil Family, he is now survived by his wife and two kids. His body was handed over to the family after the autopsy.
As per police reports, mental stress and domestic issues could have prompted him to end his own life. A police report claimed that family issues had forced Prasad to take the extreme step. "He had been going through some mental and domestic issues. His wife has also been staying away from him for some months. He seemed to have been feeling depressed for the last few days before his death", said a police officer, who reportedly collected the information from his friends and relatives.
Police also revealed that the actor has been accused several times of illegal activities and a number of police cases are still pending against Prasad in various police stations. The history-sheeter was once booked in connection with a drug case during a raid last year conducted by the Ernakulam Excise Circle office. He was caught in possession of 2.5 grams of hashish oil, 0.1 grams of buprenorphine, 15 grams of marijuana, and a machete. Police reveal that there are a number of police cases pending against Prasad in various police stations.
N. D. Prasad is most commonly known for his portrayal of villain characters in the Malayalam Film Industry.
