Iconic Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna or Balayya as he is fondly called by his fans, underwent a minor shoulder surgery at Care Hospital, Hyderabad on Tuesday. On October 31, he was admitted to the hospital after he complained of shoulder pain, which he had been experiencing over a period of six months. In a medical bulletin issued by the hospital, Balakrishna was declared to be on the road to recovery, while also informing that he had been discharged. "Upon evaluation accompanied by an MRI, our team of Orthopedic Surgeons at CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, headed by our shoulder surgeon, Dr. Raghuveer Reddy, and Dr. B N Prasad performed a 4-hour surgery to repair the shoulder muscle tendons successfully," the statement read. It further stated that Balakrishna had been in extreme pain due to the discomfort he had been experiencing in his shoulder for the past six months, which led to him not being able to lift his hand. As of now, the Telugu superstar has been advised to rest for six weeks.

On the work front, Balakrishna will be making his OTT debut with the Telugu talk show called Unstoppable with NBK, which saw him turning host on TV for the first time in his glorious career. Legendary Telugu actor Mohan Babu was the special guest in the show’s first episode, which will be premiering on Aha on November 4. Balayya is also waiting for the release of his upcoming Telugu film Akhanda, which has him reuniting with blockbuster Telugu director Boyapati Srinu after their previous successful collaborations Simhaa and Legend. Akhanda, which had a major schedule wrapped in Varanasi recently, will reportedly see Balakrishna in dual roles. As part of his role, it is being stated that one of the characters is an aghora, with the makers tight-lipped about his look. Chart-buster composer SS Thaman is churning out the tunes and the background score for the upcoming film touted to be yet another mass masala action entertainer.
