The eight-episode limited series will explore the journey of being a beloved global athlete to a pariah and back again, as well as the tumultuous ups and downs and the wild, tragic and controversial personal life and career of one of the most polarizing figures in sports culture – Mike Tyson. The series examines class and race in America and the power of media. Mike is an unauthorized and a 'no barrels left unturned' look at the life of Mike Tyson and it is one wild ride.

Tyson's tumultuous history includes his infamous 1997 World Heavyweight title fight against Evander Holyfield where he bit his ear off in an act of desperation. It also features the 1992 conviction of raping 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington. He was found guilty by an Indiana jury and received a 10-year prison sentence, with four years suspended. The boxer maintained the act was consensual.

While Tyson, now 56, hung up his gloves in 2005, he re-entered the boxing arena in 2020 for an eight-round match against Roy Jones Jr. He has also made his Indian film debut with the pan-Indian film Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on the same date as the original series' release - 25 August 2022.
