A multi-starrer, this action entertainer also includes Nithya Menen, Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal, SJ Suryah, Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala among others with chartbuster music by A. R. Rahman.
One of the biggest highlights in Mersal was the “Aalaporaan Thamizhan” track composed by A. R. Rahman, which went on to become one of the most popular songs of all time.
Meanwhile, the song’s official video has crossed 90 million views on YouTube and continues to be appreciated by the young and the elderly alike. The first Tamil song to achieve this milestone picturized on Vijay and Nithya Menen has been penned by lyricist Vivek and sung by Kailash Kher, Sathya Prakash, Deepak and Pooja AV.
