Meera Jasmine, one of the most loved heroines of the early 2000s will be making her comeback as an actor after a hiatus with Makal, the upcoming Malayalam film helmed by veteran director Sathyan Anthikad. The film features Jayaram in the lead role and with a solid supporting cast that holds some interesting names like Devika Sanjay, Naslen, Innocent, Sreenivasan, Siddique, Altaf Salim, Jayasankar, Dayyana Hameed, Meera Nair, Sreedhanya, Nilja Baby and Balaji Manohar. Produced by Central Productions, this movie is written by Dr. Iqbal Kuttipuram and has songs composed by Vishnu Vijay.

Rahul Raj has taken care of the background score. Directed by Sathyan Anthikad, the film has cinematography handled by S Kumar ISC, while the editing and stunt choreography departments are headed by K Rajagopal and Supreme Sundar respectively. The official trailer of Makal was released yesterday (April 14), ahead of the festive occasion of Vishu and the trailer has received a favourable response from the film buffs. The trailer gives us a picture of what the film is going to be about and it manages to capture varied emotions. Jayaram returns to India forever after leaving his job in Dubai, with a plan to run a masala powder company.

He is also concerned about his daughter's well-being and happiness. From what we see in the trailer, Jayaram plays a dotting father who shares a special relationship with his daughter. Meera Jasmine plays Jayaram's wife and the duo strike a good equation. Makal seems to be that trademark Malayalam film where you don't have an antagonist as such and it is just the situations that act as barriers for the leads. Meera Jasmine looks adorable and beautiful and her colourful presence adds more vibrance to the frames. The fans are already looking forward to witnessing her in action after a long time. Jayaram leaves a delightful performance that is charming and likeable. Watch the trailer of the film here:
